The image is of a dead rose standing inside a plastic bottle, which is standing inside a paper bag at the same time. To me, the image as whole represents the death of nature. The paper bag is meant to look like trash as an ironic result of what the destruction of nature (i.e. trees) really produces, the plastic bottle represents contamination and thus, the cause for the death of nature, and the dry red rose represents the literal death of nature. The sketch is meant to look sad, this is why I accentuated the shadows, and the lighting in general is low for this reason as well.
