Yuriko Katori
This project simply started from my fear of using so much water in my daily life. And I realized that I use so many things as if they will never run out, which is not true at all. We will close our history and other creatures’ history soon if we don’t face this environmental crisis. I drew this drawings to try to make me see what I use and how I use them in my daily life.
Yuriko Katori was born in Ibaraki, Japan. She moved to New York City to study art, and recieved her Master’s degree in Illustration as Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts in May 2009. In her artwork she attempts to capture the ambiguity of daily life. Her favorite mediums are etchings, pen and ink drawings, watercolors.
